[ stepping out of the shower, diana reaches for her white fluffy towel and begins to dry herself off. she arches her brow at him, not at all surprised that he's in the bathroom. she's hardly one to be embarrassed by him seeing her naked—he's ogled her a few times now, and diana often flushes with power at the way his blue eyes darken.
licking her lips, she looks at the popsicle box then up at steve with a small, warm smile. while in the shower, she'd been fretting about him being here—perhaps it was cruel to have wished for him, even though she had no idea that her wish could actually come true. maybe she should be out there, helping him figure out who he is in this new decade, find answers… but diana knows very deep in her soul that steve trevor is capable of being left alone for a few minutes. him presenting her a box of popsicles proves as much.
she's grateful he isn't frightened by this new world. much like she had taken to the world of man, he takes to 1984 with excitement, enthusiasm and a healthy dose of trepidation.
she bends down to dry off a leg. ]
They're popsicles. Like ice-cream, but less creamy. It's like frozen water. [ her brows furrow, wondering if that makes sense. she quietly asks herself what steve trevor would say, and she thinks that's it.
looking up at him, she smiles. ] Did you want to try one?
[Maybe he doesn't need that much of a break, if the way his eyes track her hands moving that towel over her legs, her very long, very nice legs is any indication.]
Hm? [Steve makes a point to focus his gaze on her face now. Or else he'll be distracted by the rest of her wonderful body and never get to try one of these frozen water treats.
Or his pizza.
Worse things probably happened.]
Just one? I want to try all the flavors. Purple, red, orange. The orange is probably self explanatory. Red is... cherry? [This is confirmed by reading the box. Purple is apparently grape. It seems dubious.] Look at that.
[ once she's somewhat dry—one leg and her belly happens to be—she drops the towel and tilts her head as she studies the box. diana doesn't feel shy, even though she had been with him during their first time in veld and their first time just recently, but that familiar sense of being home has her confident and very secure.
and she might like his eyes on her.
what flavour would she like that wouldn't intrude on his potential preferred popsicle? she's never had this conundrum before. she'd had weapons to share and pelts to pass around in themyscira, but she's never had to share anything with a man in such a long time (and the first man she had shared anything with happens to be standing before her once more). ]
Hm. I think I will take the red. [ she smiles at him. it reminds her of her armour. ] It's my colour and flavour.
Breaking into the box of popsicles is harder than it needs to be, since he can't seem to stop looking at her to actually focus on what he's doing. But eventually he manages it, flimsy cardboard can't stand up to him. Steve does have to tear his eyes away though to select the correct color treats though. Red for her and purple for him because he's intrigued by this so called grape flavor.
After unwrapping both, he hands one to her, holding his in the air.]
[ if he was her, she would've licked her popsicle to check that the flavour was what she had assumed. even now, after all these years, steve remains somewhat innocent. it's attractive and kindly balances out her need to be wild and unpredictable.
taking the cardboard box from him so he doesn't need to perform any tricks to hold it, she smiles at him. ]
Thank you.
[ rather than take the popsicle from him, she lowers her head and takes it into her mouth. she hums loudly, finding the taste sweet, and slowly pulls her mouth off of it to lick the top. ]
[Is it possible to die again from Diana giving him a heart attack? Poor Steve, about to find out.
She's managed to distract him from staring at the rest of her body in any case. In fact his eyes stay fixed on her face, especially her mouth for several moments.]
[ diana is hardly the naive girl who had left themyscira and found everything wonderful and awe-inspiring of his world. she's lived, she's cried, and she's most definitely seduced her fair share of men and women over the years since steve. she knows what she's doing, even though she wears a rather innocent expression.
she smiles, reaching out to touch his arm. he's still holding the popsicle for her. ]
I think you're sweet and I like you. Is that good enough of an answer?
